- Response time: up to 7 business days. If your request is a GDPR right (access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability), we respond within the legal one-month deadline.
We don't have a phone line. We're a small team and route everything through email so there's a paper trail.
Delete my data
From inside the app: Settings → Delete my data. That revokes your notification token on our server and wipes everything stored on your device (favorites, dismissed items, preferences, cache). Instant.
If you've already uninstalled the app and want us to delete any residual data, write to privacy@goodnewsapp.app stating you want to exercise your right of erasure (GDPR Art. 17). We confirm within 30 days.
Stop receiving notifications
In the app: Settings → Daily notifications → off. You can also disable them at OS level in iOS/Android settings.
When you disable them, we stop storing your notification token on the server as soon as the app syncs.
Report a story
Tap Report this story inside any article (icon in the reader bottom bar). Choose the reason (Incorrect information, Inappropriate tone, Other). We review each report within 72 hours.
If the story is clearly false or harmful and you want to flag it by email, write to privacy@goodnewsapp.app with the headline and the link.
I'm not getting the daily notification
- Confirm notifications are on in Settings → Daily notifications inside the app.
- Confirm your OS allows notifications from Good News (iOS/Android Settings → Notifications → Good News).
- Confirm the chosen hour is correct (device time zone).
- If all the above is correct and it still doesn't arrive, write to us with your device model and OS version.
Stories don't load
Check your connection. The app needs to reach goodnewsapp.app to download the daily digest. If your network blocks that domain (some corporate networks or VPNs do), you'll need to unblock it or switch networks.
If the problem persists, force-quit and reopen the app. If it still doesn't work, write to us.
Where does the news come from?
Each night we ingest articles from twelve Spanish outlets — generalist newspapers (El País, El Mundo, ABC, La Vanguardia, 20Minutos, elDiario.es, RTVE, Europa Press) and curated positive-news aggregators (SonBuenasNoticias, Cuéntamealgobueno, La Voz Positiva, The New Barcelona Post).
An AI filters out partisan, violent and sensationalist content. A second AI pass rewrites the headline and summary in a calm editorial tone. We label AI-rewritten text and AI-generated images visibly, and the source URL is always one tap away.
Why don't I see stories from my region / topic / outlet?
The MVP is Spain-only and selects ten stories a day from the categories science, nature, health, culture, technology, sports, solidarity and community. If you miss an outlet or topic, write to us — every suggestion goes into the roadmap queue.
Errors in AI-generated headlines or summaries
The AI rewrites headlines to fit our editorial tone. Occasionally it can introduce nuances that aren't in the original. That's why we always link to the source and that's why the report button exists.
If you find a serious error, report it from the app or write to us. If the error is misleading, we pull the story from the feed while we review.
